Google Base
Google Base is an online database powered by Google. Apart from a few restrictions you can add anything you want to the database. It will then be listed on Google Base and may also be shown in Google’s main search results, Froogle and Google Maps.
You can describe your items with detailed information called labels and attributes, which will help searchers find your content more easily. Labels are any keywords or phrases that can be used to classify or describe your item, such as recipe, event and product. Attributes are words or phrases that help describe the characteristics and qualities of your items. For example to describe a recipe you want to share, your label might be ‘Recipe’ and your attributes might include ‘Theme: Breakfast’, ‘Main Ingredient: Eggs, Chicken’, and ‘Servings: 4’.
Items are submitted to Google Base using an online form. If you have more than 10 items to submit you can use the bulk upload option. Froogle data feeds are now submitted via the bulk upload facility on Google Base.
Google Base can also be used in conjunction with Google Adwords to sell items online, as a web hosting solution and for posting classified advertising. Items can also include Google Checkout to accept online payments.
